The physician will join a team of 7 Infectious Disease physicians and 2 Advanced Practice Providers, providing infectious disease consultation and follow-up across three UnityPoint Health Des Moines hospitals and in outpatient settings. Responsibilities also include participation in robust antimicrobial stewardship programs at affiliated hospitals and clinics.
Candidates must hold an MD or DO degree and be Board Eligible or Board Certified in Infectious Disease, along with obtaining an unrestricted Iowa medical license. Eligibility to work in the United States is required, with J-1 waiver sponsorship available.
Join a well-established and reputable team of 7 Infectious Disease physicians and 2 Advanced Practice Providers Office space located in Methodist Plaza - attached to our primary hospital (Iowa Methodist Medical Center) Teaching opportunities with local residencies as well as medical students Large primary care system providing a built-in referral base Infectious disease consultation and follow up at 3 UnityPoint Health Des Moines (UPH-DM) hospitals (within a 10 mile radius) Outpatient infectious disease consultation and follow up Participate in robust antimicrobial stewardship program at UPH-DM Participate in antimicrobial stewardship and electronic consultative services at our affiliated hospitals/clinics Ability to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve Large variety of traditional and immuno-compromised infectious disease cases, including kidney transplant patients
