The Resident Wellness Assistant provides hands-on support to residents with daily living activities, emphasizing dignity and respect. They collaborate with the care team to promote comfort and safety for residents.
Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED and demonstrate a compassionate, patient-centered approach to care. Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential.
The Resident Wellness Assistant provides compassionate, hands-on support to residents with daily living activities, including personal care, mobility, and hygiene. This role emphasizes dignity, respect, and empathy, using techniques from Memory Care training to reduce stress and encourage cooperation. The Resident Wellness Assistant works closely with residents, families, and team members to promote comfort, safety, and overall well-being.
Perform all duties and responsibilities with a positive attitude, demonstrates impeccable ethics and integrity. Ambulates or assists in ambulation of the residents to and from activities, dining room or other locations as needed. Assists with or perform personal hygiene tasks - brush teeth, comb hair, shave, etc. Lift residents as needed Communicate clearly and professionally with residents, families, and staff while maintaining confidentiality. Collaborate with the Wellness Director, care team, and healthcare providers to support individualized resident care plans. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe medication area and promote a supportive wellness environment. Provide attentive, compassionate service that respects residents’ mobility, cognitive, and sensory needs. Build meaningful relationships with residents and team members while upholding ethics and integrity.
Education & Experience: High School Diploma or GED Skills and Qualifications: Compassionate, patient-centered approach with a commitment to high-quality patient care. Strong attention to detail, organization, and accurate documentation Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Sound judgement and ability to make confident ethical decisions. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays. Physical Requirements: Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods. Ability to move comfortably and safely, which can include lifting, bending, stretching, squatting, etc. Ability to safely support resident mobility and perform physical duties associated with caregiving.
