Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse in an inpatient/hospital unit, the assistant performs routine direct patient care, environmental, and administrative support activities to ensure patient health, safety, and comfort. All activities must adhere strictly to CCMC and unit policies and procedures.
A High School diploma or equivalent is required, and preference is given to candidates enrolled in or who have completed CNA, Medical Assistant, or EMT programs, along with at least one year of pediatric PCA experience. Required certifications include BLS/CPR within two weeks of hire and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention within three months.

MS8 is a team oriented, fast paced, 27 bed, inpatient floor. Our team works closely with multiple specialty areas to provide compassionate care, innovative treatment options, and novel clinical therapies to children and young adults affected by cancer and blood disorders. Our staff are provided a strong foundation for caring for this population by offering both Hem/Onc Foundations classes and Chemotherapy/Biotherapy classes. We value continuity of care and build strong relationships with our patients and their families.
