The registered professional nurse employed by Erlanger Medical Center is responsible for providing direct and/or indirect care to patients. This role requires demonstrating knowledge and skills appropriate for the age of patients served in the Neuro Medical, Neuro Surgical Intensive Care Unit (NNICU).
Candidates must be a nursing student within one year of graduating from an accredited program and possess a current BLS certification prior to unit assignment. Required knowledge includes general nursing principles, organizational functions, and proficiency in monitoring invasive lines like ICP or Ventricular Drains, along with performing neurological exams.

Required: Will consider a nursing student (RN or LPN) within one year of graduating from an accredited nursing program.
Required: Knowledge of general nursing principles and practice skills; knowledge of organizational functions, and regulations; knowledge of current trends and new developments; knowledge of principles and practices of nursing, applicable to those areas requiring special education.
The NNICU Nurse tech 1 must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in NNICU. The NNICU nurse tech 1 must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's acute or critical status and interpret and response appropriate to the identified information. The nurse tech 1 in the Neuro Medical, Neuro Surgical Intensive Care Unit must be familiar with Medical and Post Operative care of Acute or Critical Neuro patients, able to monitor invasive lines such as ICP or Ventricular Drains, and be proficient in Neurological exam. The nurse tech 1 will provide care as needed per described unit's policies and procedures. Ability to assess patients, select, develop, implement and evaluate plan of care. Ability to perform procedures and operate equipment necessary for patient care as assigned.
