The Dosimetrist follows physician directives to generate radiation dose distributions and calculations using treatment planning procedures to localize tumors and critical structures. They perform procedures utilizing ionizing radiation and imaging modalities for disease localization and treatment.
A minimum of five years of experience is required, along with certification by the Medical Dosimetry Certification Board (MDCB) and advanced computer literacy skills. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire.
Follows written directive of the physician to generate radiation dose distributions and dose calculations in collaboration with the physician and medical physicist, using radiotherapy treatment planning procedures and equipment to localize the tumor and other critical structures; performs procedures and or treatments for patients by utilizing ionizing radiation, other imaging modalities, and/or other equipment in order to aid in the localization an/or treatment of disease. Performs other duties as assigned.
