The Medical Assistant performs various administrative and clinical support functions in an outpatient clinic, including initial patient triage, registration, assisting with direct patient care, and performing routine medical procedures under supervision. Key duties involve recording medical histories, scheduling, taking vital signs, conducting routine tests, administering medications, and preparing charts for provider review.
Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent, along with 6-12 months of experience in a healthcare environment, and current BLS certification from the American Heart Association. A Certified Medical Assistant credential is preferred.

Under general supervision, the Medical Assistant performs a wide variety of medical and clinical support functions in an outpatient clinic setting. Responsibilities include providing initial patient triage, registration, and administrative services, assisting with direct patient care, and performing medical procedures of a routine nature as determined by established protocols, policies, and procedures.
The Medical Assistant records and updates medical histories, verifies contact information in patient files, schedules appointments and procedures, obtains medication authorizations, and provides appointment reminders. The position also includes performing standard care procedures such as taking vitals, conducting routine tests, responding to messages, pre-charting, and abstracting documentation as needed.
The ideal candidate must be able to maintain efficiency in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, demonstrating a pleasant and professional demeanor with patients and team members.
