Special Procedures Technologists perform procedures under the medical supervision of certified radiologists, assisting them as needed and being responsible for supervising student Radiologic Technologists. Essential functions include ensuring patient care and safety during imaging procedures, obtaining correct written orders, and efficiently completing patient care assignments while maintaining quality standards.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited school of Allied Health Professionals and possess one year of Imaging Technologist experience or six months of Special Procedures/Vascular Interventional Radiology Technologist experience. Required certifications include ARRT registration in Radiologic Technology and a current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Card.
