The volunteer provides patient care and support services according to their experience and training, serving as an integral member of the interdisciplinary group. Responsibilities include performing homemaker chores, running errands, and providing respite care while maintaining confidentiality.
Candidates should be mature individuals supportive of the hospice concept and willing to serve others. Successful completion of the hospice’s volunteer training and orientation program is required, along with the ability to work within an interdisciplinary group.
