The Anesthetist responds to patient anesthetic needs across preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases, administering anesthesia services under medical direction and managing emergent airways as needed. Key duties include formulating anesthetic plans with an anesthesiologist, performing special line placements, and maintaining comprehensive documentation.
A Master's Degree in Nurse Anesthesia is generally required, though CRNAs graduating before December 31, 2003, from an accredited program may be accepted in lieu of the degree. Applicants must possess required certifications including SC RN-Advance Practice and CRNA-Nurse Anesthetist, with no previous experience mandated.
