The Sonographer performs diagnostic procedures using ultrasound waves to examine tissue and body structure, ensuring the provision of quality images for interpretation. Responsibilities include setting up and adjusting equipment, implementing safety standards, performing routine and complex studies, and ensuring prompt submission of high-quality images to PACS.
Candidates must be a registered sonographer holding two or more registries appropriate for the department(s) of work, with the second registry used in the primary or secondary department 30% of the time. No formal experience is required, but completion of a Sonography program and specific certifications like BLS HCP and multiple RDMS specialties are mandatory.
