The Surgical Technologist assists the surgical team during operations by arranging, inventorying, and maintaining sterile setups, and passing necessary items to the surgeon. Responsibilities also include assisting in preparing the surgical suite, moving patients, and providing technical aid for exposure and homeostasis.
Candidates must hold current National Certification from NBSTSA or meet specific education/training requirements outlined by TN Code Ann. 68-57-101(a), which includes graduating from an accredited program or completing military training. A BLS certification is required within 14 days of hire.
Assists surgical team during operation/procedure by arranging, inventoring and maintaining sterile set up for operation, and passes items as needed. Assists in preparation of surgical suite, moving patients, and in cleaning. Provides aid in exposure, homeostasis, and other technical functions that will help the surgeon carry out safe operation with optimal results for the patient. Performs other duties as assigned.
Description Minimum Required Preferred/Desired Computer literacy.
Licensure: Description Minimum Required Preferred/Desired BLS certification within 14 days of hire date
