This role involves functioning as part of the dialysis healthcare team to provide safe and effective dialysis therapy under nurse supervision, including setting up and operating hemodialysis machines. Responsibilities also include monitoring patients during treatment, performing pre and post-treatment evaluations, and accurately documenting all treatment parameters and patient responses.
Candidates must possess a High School diploma or GED and meet all state and/or national certification requirements set by CMS, including obtaining CCHT certification within 18 months of hiring. A minimum of one year of healthcare patient care experience in a hospital or related facility is required, along with successful completion of the organization's dialysis training and CPR certification.
Description Southeastern Renal Dialysis is seeking a dedicated Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join our dialysis team. In this role, you will provide safe, high-quality hemodialysis treatment under the supervision of a licensed nurse while ensuring patient comfort, safety, and compliance with state and federal regulations. This position is ideal for candidates with prior patient care experience who are passionate about delivering compassionate, detail-oriented care in a clinical setting. Key Responsibilities Set up, operate, and disinfect hemodialysis machines Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment Obtain and document vital signs, weights, and treatment data Perform vascular access care and cannulation per state guidelines Identify and report changes in patient condition to the RN Administer heparin as delegated by licensed nurse Collect and prepare laboratory specimens Maintain strict infection control and safety standards Accurately document treatments in the clinical system Support quality improvement initiatives (QEP/CQI)
