The Certified Pharmacy Technician for HOPD services is primarily responsible for managing all medication needs incurred by the VHC Health Hospital Outpatient Departments. This role also includes performing limited tasks such as receiving daily pharmacy deliveries and providing support to the inpatient pharmacy team during staffing shortages.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent, along with two years of retail or hospital pharmacy experience, and one year of computer experience. Required licensure includes being a Licensed Certified Pharmacy Technician by the Virginia Department of Health Professions and holding CPhT certification.

Purpose & Scope: The Certified Pharmacy Technician for Hospital Outpatient Department (HOPD) services is responsible for all medication management needs incurred by the VHC Health HOPDs. This position also performs limited tasks including receiving daily pharmacy deliveries and supporting the inpatient pharmacy team during unplanned or planned staffing shortages.
