• The Physical Therapy Assistant is responsible for providing physical therapy treatment to patients under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist and in accordance with professional and organizational standards of treatment.

• A Brief Overview The Physical Therapy Assistant is responsible for providing physical therapy treatment to patients under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist and in accordance with professional and organizational standards of treatment.

• What you will do Implements patient treatments based on assessment and under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Initiates patient and family teaching.
• Demonstrates initiative in identifying opportunities for self-development and enhancement of professional competency.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Ability to understand and prepare moderately complex written materials, such as patient records. Ability to verbally communicate treatment instructions and patient status to Associates, physicians, patients, and patients' family members. Ability to work without close supervision and to exercise independent judgment. Ability to organize multiple tasks and projects and maintain control of work flow. Supervision Provided by this Position There are no supervisory or lead responsibilities assigned to this job. Physical Demands Exposure to patient body fluids. Ability to react quickly to emergency situations. Ability to read and write to communicate both orally and in writing with other individuals. Normal vision, including peripheral vision. Ability to lift, push and pull up to 150 lbs., as well as carry up to 40 lbs. Ability to stand, squat, reach, bend, walk, twist and sit in one place throughout shift. Ability to use hands and feet together for repetitive, coordinated motions. Ability to use hands for gripping and squeezing as well as repetitive hand and wrist motion. Good hand-eye coordination.
