This role involves performing a wide range of medical laboratory procedures, requiring technical knowledge and skill, and operating complex laboratory analyzers to generate critical diagnostic and treatment data. The technologist must also make independent judgments on test results, perform and analyze quality control data, and interact with healthcare practitioners.
Candidates must meet Florida state licensure requirements for a Technologist, which includes holding a Florida Technologist License in the appropriate area(s). New hires starting October 1, 2022, are required to possess a Bachelor's degree in Clinical/Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Biology, or a related field, though academic equivalents may be accepted.
