You will provide patient-centred care as an Occupational Therapist in the Acute Mental Health/Forensic Unit, supporting adults experiencing psychiatric crises. To be successful, you will need HCPC registration and a degree-level qualification in Occupational Therapy, along with proven experience in adult mental health. Strong understanding of the Mental Health Act and excellent communication skills are essential.
Liquid Personnel is seeking a dynamic Occupational Therapist to join an Acute Mental Health team of Forensic unit based in Hampshire, where your expertise will support adults in crisis through meaningful, recovery-focused interventions. What will your responsibilities be?
In this role, you will provide patient-centred care as an Occupational Therapist in the Acute Mental Health/Forensic Unit, supporting adults experiencing psychiatric crises or detained under the Mental Health Act (MHA). You will conduct functional and risk assessments, implement tailored therapeutic interventions, and contribute to recovery-focused discharge planning. Working within a multidisciplinary team (MDT) that includes psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and social workers, you will manage complex mental health needs, including forensic histories. Your responsibilities also include facilitating group therapy, supporting structured routines, contributing to risk management strategies, and adapting to dynamic clinical demands in a secure, rehabilitative environment.
