The Nurse Technician performs basic patient care activities, such as monitoring vital signs and assisting with daily living tasks, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role also involves maintaining a clean environment and managing tech desk operations to support nursing and physician staff.
A High School diploma is preferred, and while an SRNA or EMT license is preferred, BCLS certification is required for this role. Candidates must demonstrate critical thinking, the ability to work under stress with minimal supervision, and proficiency in English communication.
Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), performs basic patient care activities and unit support tasks to promote safe, efficient care and patient throughput. Assists with activities of daily living, routine monitoring, and maintaining a clean, well-stocked environment; supports nursing/physician staff and tech desk operations. Reports to the Director or Manager of Department. FLSA: Non-Exempt.

Occupational exposure may be present for all employees in this role.
Frequent standing, walking, reaching, keyboard entry, repetitive movements, kneeling, and lifting/moving patients; occasional sitting and squatting; rare running or climbing. Near/far vision and depth perception frequent/constant; color distinction frequent.
Occasional exposure to biohazardous waste, communicable diseases/pathogens, dust, gases/vapors/fumes, and hazardous chemicals/medications; latex exposure frequent.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
High School diploma preferred.
SRNA or EMT preferred.
BCLS required; Handle with Care preferred.
Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment; rapid learning and navigation of multiple software systems; effective English communication (read/write/speak); ability to complete the Skills Competency Checklist within 90 days of hire.
