Provide skilled mentorship and behavioral support to individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities to foster independence in home and community settings. Responsibilities include implementing resident programming, administering medications, and ensuring general health and safety.
Requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with at least 1 year of human services experience. Candidates must possess a valid driver's license, auto insurance, and pass comprehensive background checks.

Education and Experience · Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) plus minimum of 1 year experience in human services required; 3 years’ experience preferred · $100,000/300,00 Automobile Liability Insurance · Valid driver’s license and access to a safe operating vehicle during scheduled working hours · Criminal, motor vehicle, and Bureau of Elderly and Adult Services background checks that meet agency standards · Required state training through Relias Learning or equivalent preferred · Completion of Management of Aggressive Behaviors (MOAB) training part 1 and part 2 · It is considered a bona fide occupational qualification (BFOQ) for direct support staff /professionals to accompany clients to religious ceremonies as dictated by the clients’ personal religious preferences Skills and Abilities · Demonstrate a commitment to the Moore Center’s values · Comply with all state, agency and department policies and procedures · Demonstrate a strong emphasis on customer service skills, both to our clients and all staff · Maintain a positive attitude including the use of positive language while working with the individuals we serve and team members. · Ability to individualize the supports needed for the individuals we serve · Ability to work independently, as part of a team, or in a group setting to increase the skills of the individuals we serve and their quality of life in the community · Provide personal care and behavioral support, including but not limited to physical assistance · Maintain professional demeanor in emotionally charged situations · Ability to write detailed accounts of incidents and behaviors · Ability to successfully complete medication training if applicable. · Demonstrates flexibility in scheduling and daily assignments · Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and the ability to master new software
