This role involves assisting the anesthesia provider under supervision with direct patient care across all age groups, including setup and application of monitoring, airway assistance, and performing various technical tasks during anesthesia induction and procedures. The technologist also manages equipment readiness, inventory, cleaning, and participates in quality improvement and staff development activities.
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited Anesthesia Technology program with an AS degree or certified by ASATT, hold a High School Diploma, and possess I.V. Certification, ASATT Technologist Certificate, Basic Life Support, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Additional requirements include the physical ability to lift 45 lbs daily and push/pull up to 500 lbs, along with demonstrated competency in anesthesia equipment use and sterile technique.
Assists the Anesthesia provider under the supervision of the Chief of Anesthesiology, or designee. Practices in accordance with the legal scope of practice and within established standards of care, policies and procedures.
Certificate of training for Drager, GE, or other anesthesia delivery systems, if not a graduate of a program. Minimum one (1) year of experience in a Cardiac OR and/or Level 1 trauma center. Associate Degree previous experience anesthesia technician or technologist experience required Notes: This is an on call position, days and hours may vary.
