As a First Assistant Registered Nurse, you will support physicians across clinic, hospital, and OR settings, covering the entire patient treatment process from pre-surgery through post-operative care. Key duties include performing pre-surgical evaluations, assisting surgeons during operations by handling instruments and ensuring hemostasis, and coordinating post-operative patient management.
Candidates must have a minimum of two years of previous RN experience and successful completion of a recognized Nursing program, with First Assistant RN experience being highly preferred. The ideal candidate should possess RN-First Assistant certification and obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.

Job Summary As a First Assistant Registered Nurse, you'll support physicians in clinic, hospital, and OR settings to provide top-tier medical care. You will collaborate closely with both physicians and patients in clinical and hospital settings to ensure excellent care. Your duties will cover the entire patient treatment process, from before to after surgery. Essential Functions of the Role You'll carry out pre-surgical evaluations and focused nursing assessments, and issue pre-operative orders by following established procedures. You'll play a crucial role in patient care planning, by interacting and coordinating with other healthcare providers. One main responsibility is assisting surgeons during operations. This includes handling instruments, providing exposure, cutting tissue, ensuring hemostasis, and suturing tissues. After surgeries, you'll help manage patients with other healthcare professionals. Assisting with patient discharge and coordinating with community resources when needed is another key aspect of this role. Key Success Factors Effective communication abilities. Successful completion of a recognized Nursing program. A minimum of (2) two years of previous experience in nursing. 2yr or more of RNFA experience. CVOR experience highly preferred.
