• As a highly trained professional, you will help prepare patients and operating rooms for surgery, and serve as an extra set of hands during surgical procedures.

• Function as a member of the surgical team who promotes safe patient care, prepares for surgical procedures and manages the sterile field, assists the surgeon by passing instruments/equipment and anticipating needs during surgical procedures.
• Understands and satisfies the supply, instrumentation and equipment needs from neonatal to adult patients.
• Demonstrates advanced knowledge and proficient practice in the first scrub role for most surgical procedures.
• Assists with orientation of new personnel in the surgical technologist role.
• Position requirements: Completion of a surgical technologist program.
• Two years of surgical technologist experience (minimum of 1 year in pediatrics).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.
• Surgical Technologist Certification preferred.
• Candidates must be available full time days to orientate for the first 6 months.

Hours

• Every other weekend (Saturday & Sunday) and 1 day per week. 7am-5pm or 9am-7pm depending on department needs. This position also includes holiday rotation call requirement with a 30 min response rate. Children's Wisconsin is an equal opportunity / affirmative action employer.
