The role involves receiving and processing cytological specimens for disease detection and monitoring under supervision, requiring the performance of laboratory procedures and accurate documentation of test results and quality control measures. Responsibilities also include preparing specimens for analysis, entering specimen information, and potentially training new staff and residents.
This position requires the exercise of sound judgment and responsibility in preparatory techniques for which the individual is qualified by education, training, and experience, while adhering to diagnostic performance guidelines. The individual must also demonstrate good communication skills and the ability to train others.
Min. $26.37/hr - Max $42.19/hr 1. Performs testing and reports results on laboratory specimens 2. Thoroughly, accurately and legibly documents test results and quality control 3. Demonstrates and uses the applicable computer systems 4. Listens well, takes direction and engages in interactive dialogues with others. 5. Meets the diagnostic performance guideline established by the medical director 6. Prepares Cytologic specimens for analysis that will aid in the diagnosis/monitoring of disease 7. Performs maintenance and quality control procedures 8. Thoroughly and accurately enters specimen information and verifies patient demographics. 9.
