The Radiation Therapist is responsible for delivering radiation treatment to patients as prescribed by the radiation oncologist. They ensure accurate treatment delivery and maintain patient safety throughout the process.
Candidates must have current ARRT certification and complete an accredited Radiation Therapy program. Additionally, American Heart Association BLS certification is required.
The Radiation Therapist plays a critical role in the delivery of radiation treatment to patients diagnosed with cancer and other diseases requiring radiation therapy. This position involves working closely with oncologists, medical physicists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement precise treatment plans that maximize therapeutic effects while minimizing exposure to healthy tissues. The therapist is responsible for operating sophisticated radiation equipment, ensuring patient safety, and providing compassionate care throughout the treatment process. Accuracy, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols are paramount to achieving successful patient outcomes.
