This role provides linkage services, individual case management, and group counseling for clients with substance use or dual diagnosis disorders residing in recovery houses, while maintaining a positive residential environment that supports treatment goals. Key duties involve facilitating educational groups, monitoring resident health and medication, enforcing house rules, and completing thorough documentation of client progress and activities.
Candidates must possess an Associate's degree in a human/social service field and preferably have one year of experience in alcohol and substance abuse residential treatment. Required certifications include CDCA or above, CPR, First Aid, AEGIS (De-escalation) training, and Medication Monitoring, along with a valid Ohio driver's license.
Education: Associate degree in human/social service field.
One year in the field of alcohol and substance abuse residential treatment preferred.
CDCA or above required, SWA or above preferred; CPR; First Aid; AEGIS (De-escalation) training; Medication Monitoring.
Capacity to perform duties effectively under potential emotional stress and conflict situations. Proficiency in utilizing basic computer skills and office equipment for documentation and communication purposes. Practice of a client-focused approach, demonstrating active listening skills, reading comprehension, critical thinking, and leadership abilities. excellent interpersonal skills, including directing and demonstrating activities of daily living, i.e., cooking, cleaning, laundry, etc. operating basic household appliances and tools.
Willingness and physical capability to engage in activities are essential to meet the fundamental needs of individuals served. This includes occasional assistance in relocating individuals to new living situations, aiding with shopping, and instructing daily living skills, as necessary. Lifting to 25 pounds, standing, bending, stooping, writing legibly or using computer, ability to read, and communicate information clearly, ability to recognize unusual or threatening conditions, and ability to remain patient and understanding when working with individuals in various stages of recovery.
