The HIMS Technician is responsible for compiling, processing, and maintaining patient records for hospital and clinic patients in compliance with all medical, administrative, ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements. This role involves processing, maintaining, compiling, and reporting patient information to meet health requirements and standards.
A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, along with graduation from an accredited Medical Record Technology program. A minimum of three years of hospital HIMS experience is preferred in lieu of certification, and knowledge of medical terminology is required.
The HIMS Technician compiles, processes, and maintains records of hospital and clinic patients in a manner consistent with medical, administrative, ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements of the healthcare system.
