The Substance Abuse Counselor provides direct counseling, support, and case management services in group and individual settings to individuals dealing with substance use and co-occurring behavioral health conditions, utilizing evidence-based interventions. Responsibilities also include completing all required documentation, facilitating substance abuse groups, and collaborating with external systems like the court system when necessary.
Minimum requirements include a High School Diploma/GED, a valid Georgia Driver’s License, and a willingness to obtain Addiction Counselor certification (CCIT) and travel within the service area. Candidates should possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently and collaboratively, and experience with Microsoft 365 products.
