The role utilizes the nursing process and scientific principles to deliver comprehensive, age-appropriate nursing care to stable and critically ill patients across critical care and medical/surgical units. Responsibilities include developing and implementing care plans, meeting patient/family educational needs, promoting safe care, and delegating tasks based on staff competency.
Candidates must possess an Associate's Degree (or higher, with BSN preferred) and at least two years of nursing experience, along with required Kansas and Missouri RN licenses upon hire. Employment is conditional upon meeting specific immunization requirements, including the seasonal influenza vaccine.
Utilizes the nursing process to develop and implement a comprehensive, age-appropriate plan of care for stable and critically ill patients and families which promotes optimal patient outcomes. Meets the educational and informational needs of the stable and critically ill patient and family, utilizing appropriate principles of teaching/learning. Promotes safe, efficient, family-centered care to stable and critically ill patients. Delegates nursing care based on knowledge of staff qualifications/competency and patient care requirements. Participates in performance improvement activities and attends education programs, unit meetings and assigned committees.
Associate's Degree and Current employees hired before September 1, 2013 are grandfathered and permitted to continue in the direct care nursing role. 2 years or more of nursing experience Bachelor's Degree preferred Direct care nurses without a BSN hired on or after September 1, 2013 are required to enroll in an academic program promptly in order to complete their BSN degree requirements within 5 years of their hire date. The pay range for this job begins at $34.43/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.
