The role involves performing molecular and cellular experiments, supporting stem cell differentiation workflows, and developing functional assays to evaluate beta-cell identity and performance. Senior levels require independent experimental planning, assay development, and active participation in data interpretation and research advancement.
Minimum requirements include a Bachelor's degree in a relevant science field plus one year of wet lab experience for the intermediate level, or two years for the senior level, with substitutions allowed for education and experience combinations. Preferred qualifications include experience with mammalian cell culture, CRISPR workflows, and flow cytometry.
Intermediate Level: Bachelor’s degree in biology, molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, genetics, bioengineering, or a related field. One (1) year of experience in an experimental or wet laboratory. Senior Level: Bachelor’s degree in biology, molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, genetics, bioengineering, or a related field. Two (2) years of experience in an experimental or wet laboratory. Substitution (All Levels): A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship. Preferred Qualifications (All Levels): Experience with mammalian cell culture, including maintenance, passaging, and basic functional assays. Hands-on experience with CRISPR-based workflows, such as plasmid preparation, cloning, or genotyping validation. Experience performing flow cytometry sample preparation, acquisition, or analysis. At least one (1) year of full-time laboratory research experience in molecular biology, stem cell biology, developmental biology, or a related field beyond coursework. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Intermediate Level: Ability to follow established laboratory protocols with accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to learn new laboratory techniques and incorporate feedback into daily work. Ability to maintain clear, organized experimental records and document results consistently. Ability to manage time effectively and complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision. Ability to work cooperatively within a research team and contribute to shared responsibilities. Senior Level: Ability to independently plan, execute, and troubleshoot laboratory procedures. Ability to adapt to evolving project needs and implement new technical approaches. Ability to organize, prioritize, and coordinate multiple experiments simultaneously. Ability to document and interpret experimental results with a high level of accuracy. Ability to assist in guiding junior lab members and support a collaborative research environment.
