This role involves performing basic polysomnographic testing, setting up sleep-related therapies, and independently executing procedures according to physician orders and departmental policy. The technologist is primarily responsible for scoring all sleep study procedures and providing necessary patient education.
Candidates must possess an Associate degree from an accredited Respiratory Therapy school or equivalent experience, along with specific credentials like CRT-SDS, RRT-SDS, or RPSGT. A minimum of two years of direct polysomnographic work experience is required to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
Skills necessary to treat patients of all ages to include infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Computer literate with complete working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Windows. Clinical skills required to perform the essential functions of the role Interpersonal skills.
