The technologist performs specialized breast examinations, including diagnostic or screening mammograms and assisting with intricate procedures like breast biopsies, while operating specialized equipment. They are responsible for completing patient education, following safety guidelines, and producing high-quality films for radiologist evaluation.
Candidates must possess an Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology and hold required certifications including Radiologic Tech (RT) and Mammography Technologist licenses in California, along with ARRT-R and BLS certifications. Experience as a Mammography Technologist is preferred, and specific facility licenses like Mammographic Radiologic Technology (MRT) are required.

Performs specialized examinations of the breast to help in the diagnosis and treatment of breast disease. Performs all required procedures in the department while operating specialized equipment. Acts as a competent clinician who provides clinical care in a skilled and effective manner, utilizing appropriate technical and decision-making skills.
