The Veterinary Assistant will collaborate with a team to provide high-quality care to shelter and privately owned animals, assisting with surgical procedures, administering treatments, and performing diagnostic tests under supervision. Key duties include maintaining sanitary environments, utilizing Fear Free handling techniques, and ensuring excellent client communication during patient discharge.
Candidates must be able to obtain a Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit in California and have prior experience caring for animals in a medical or shelter setting, specifically using Fear Free handling methods. The role requires comfort handling all pet types, excellent customer service skills, and a strong desire to contribute to both onsite and mobile clinic operations.
