Requires a bachelor's degree in a human services field and a valid driver's license with reliable transportation. Two years of experience in mental health and knowledge of substance use treatment or developmental disabilities are preferred.

Mark Twain Behavioral Health is seeking a full-time CRISIS OUTREACH SPECIALIST in our HANNIBAL-FORREST DRIVE location. Consider joining our MTBH Team! This position is primarily responsible for providing clients a range of outpatient crisis-related services. This clinician has a passion for working with consumers and families in distress, people in danger of harming themselves or others, and general support for those experiencing an acute psychiatric crisis and their referral sources.
Role Responsibilities Provide comprehensive strengths-based response to adult or youth consumers in behavioral health and/or substance use crisis Provide direct support in conjunction with the clinical crisis response team and necessary follow-ups to promote engagement in treatment Foster good working relations with local law enforcement, emergency rooms, and various referral sources Provide additional after-hours on-call crisis services in accordance with the essential duties and responsibilities of the ACI system as a Tier 2 Mobile Crisis Responder per DMH guidelines Collaborate with Community Behavioral Health Liaison, Youth Behavioral Health Liaison, clinical team and agency supervisors, Emergency Room Enhancement Program, Intake Department, and other specialized programs Participate in ongoing training to enhance crisis intervention skills through various evidence-based practices Participate in clinical staffing Other duties may be assigned
Adherence to the MTBH Ethical Code of Conduct and all policies is required.
Reliable transportation, current driver’s license, and willingness to travel are required.
Bachelor’s degree in the human services field (psychology, sociology, criminology etc.) with a recommended two additional years working in the mental health field Demonstrated knowledge or certification in Substance Use Treatment and/or Developmental Disabilities is also preferred for this position Excellent written and verbal communication skills
