The Licensed Practical Nurse assists the Director of Nursing in delivering services to individuals, focusing on their safety and well-being, which includes medication monitoring, responding to incidents, and coordinating medical appointments. Administrative duties involve accurate documentation, managing reports, and monitoring program resources to maintain a secure home environment.
Candidates must be a graduate of a Licensed Practical Nurse Program and hold a valid NC LPN license, with a preference for experience working with individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). Essential abilities include clear communication, leadership potential, the capacity to train and coordinate staff, and the ability to establish rapport with individuals served and external agencies.
Can be RN or LPN, work a minimum of 15 hours a week, Preferably with IDD experience On call 24/7 for one week on a rotation, medication monitoring, response to incident reports, injuries, medical appointments (scheduling and attending), close contact with physicians and specialists Administrative: Prepare and submit required documentation for reimbursement of work-related mileage, use of PTO, timesheets, and any other required reports accurately and on a timely basis. Obtain approval and submit invoices for accounts payable. Maintain and utilize the home and other company property entrusted to your care. Monitor the use of resources such as, but not limited to, food, supplies, clothing, small equipment items and other appropriate needs for the program/individual. Obtain petty cash as needed and follow required procedures related to expenditure and receipts. Participate in mandatory house meetings as assigned by supervisor.

Monitor compliance with all licensure and regulatory standards and follow-up on all programmatic recommendations and plans of correction. Keep supervisor and/or ICF/MR Director informed of follow up. Implement ComServ, Inc. policies and procedures. Monitor food supplies, cleaning supplies, work orders, etc in order to maintain and provide a clean, secure home environment for the individuals. Have a working knowledge and adheres to all ComServ, Inc. Policies and Procedures.
Document program specific information per rules and regulations of the service provided in the residence. Document all necessary information from OT/PT appointments. Document all medical in-service trainings conducted for staff. Document medical changes in the service record as required. Follow-up and document the required nursing section on all incident reports as required. Document medication changes on the Medication Administration Record. Document any needed changes to Physician Orders per physician request and signature.
