Job DescriptionIn this role, you will provide hands-on emergency and critical care, including:Triage and prioritize incoming patientsPlace IV catheters, central lines, NG tubes, and nasal cannulas; perform blood draws and transfusionsAssist with radiographs, barium studies, and ultrasound-guided proceduresProvide intensive care for ICU patients, including chest tube maintenance and critical patient supportBandage, splint, and assist in surgeryPrepare and interpret fecals, blood smears, and cytologiesMentor and train less experienced staffPartner with DVMs to provide patient care, comfort, and client educationThis position is ideal for CVTs looking to practice at the top of their license, grow their skills, and be part of a collaborative, high-energy ER team.QualificationsWe’re looking for a Certified Veterinary Technician who is eager to grow, thrive in a busy ER environment, and contribute to our team culture.Required QualificationsCurrent CVT (or eligible for certification).Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive team-oriented attitude.Ability to arrive on time and ready to work in a fast-paced environment.Exceptional communication and customer service skills.Accurate medical recordkeeping and client history documentation.Proficiency in safe, low-stress restraint of patients.Competence in sample collection (blood, urine, fecal, skin) and lab processing.Proficiency in positioning and capturing quality radiographs.Experience in anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery.Preferred Qualifications1+ year of clinical experience (ER or specialty preferred, but not required)Familiarity with preventative care, surgical procedures, and hospital flowConfidence in advanced skills (e.g., central lines, NG tubes, CRI calculations)- or a strong desire to learn!Ability to accept and integrate constructive feedback to maintain efficiency and patient safety.A self-starter mindset with motivation to expand knowledge, pursue specialization, or step into leadership.Additional InformationAt AESC of NWA, we know ER is hard work- so we’re committed to making sure our team feels supported, valued, and cared for inside and outside the hospital.Pay Range: $25 - $30/hr+ depending on level of experience.
