The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides direct patient care for diverse patient populations under the supervision of a registered nurse or provider, implementing technical nursing procedures according to established plans of care. The LPN also assists with routine patient education and ensures appropriate documentation while interacting with team members to facilitate quality care delivery.
Candidates must be a graduate of a State Board School of Practical Nursing and possess current Alabama or multi-state licensure. A requirement includes having Basic Life Support (BLS) certification before the conclusion of the orientation period, and the position is open to both experienced nurses and new graduates.
Overview The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) performs a broad array of nursing tasks under the supervision of a registered nurse or provider. The individual provides direct patient care for diverse patient populations that vary in gender, age, socioeconomic status, education, physical and mental abilities, locations, sexual lifestyle, and racial and ethnic background. The LPN implements technical nursing procedures according to established policies and procedures and plan of care, assists and reinforces routine patient education, and documents patient care appropriately. The LPN communicates and interacts with other team members to facilitate teamwork and delivery of quality care.
Education: Graduate of State board School of Practical Nursing with current Alabama or multi-state licensure.
