The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering safe patient care by utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, while providing direct patient care within the scope of practice. This role also involves directing and guiding patient/family teaching and the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining ICU standards of care.
Candidates must possess a current and valid state RN License, current BLS certificate, and current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire, along with completing Basic Arrythmia Interpretation within 30 days. A minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care, preferably critical care, is required.
The CNA in the Telemetry Department is a certified assistive person who assists with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to non-critical patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING 1. Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire, required. 2. Current BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current. 3. Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology. 4. Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred. Facility Specific Requirements (facility may require items listed below): 1. Current Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate within 6 months of hire and maintain current per facility requirement.
