The Licensed Practical Nurse provides direct patient care to adult, pediatric, and geriatric populations under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, utilizing the nursing process and adhering to facility values. Key functions include contributing to patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation, as well as supporting unit operations and personal growth.
Candidates must be a graduate of an approved Practical Nurse program and hold a current Michigan Practical Nurse license, along with BLS certification. Preferred qualifications include one year of general LPN or hospital experience.
Provides direct patient care to the adult, pediatric, and geriatric patient population under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Utilizes the nursing process while demonstrating behaviors that support McLaren Port Huron’s Values. Functions within a Team setting. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: 1. Supports the mission and vision of McLaren Port Huron through behaviors that reflect and integrate our values, as evidenced by observation, peer and customer feedback. 2. Contributes to the assessment of the patient’s physical and psychological needs and strengths in a comprehensive manner. 3. Contributes to the individualized nursing care plan of patients. 4. Contributes to the implementation of the patient’s plan of care. 5. Contributes to the evaluation of the adult and geriatric patient’s plan of care. 6. Contributes to the management and efficient operation of the nursing unit. 7. Demonstrates commitment to personal career growth and competency. 8. Performs other related job duties as assigned.
Required: · Graduate of an approved Practical Nurse program · Current Michigan license for a Practical Nurse · BLS and Canadian Equivalent Preferred: · One (1) year of experience in general LPN experience or hospital experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: · Nursing skills as defined in the laws governing the practice of licensed practical nursing in the state of Michigan.
