The Nurse Practitioner will conduct comprehensive health assessments and manage acute and chronic pulmonary conditions. Responsibilities include diagnosing, developing treatment plans, prescribing medications, and coordinating care with other healthcare professionals.
Candidates must graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program and hold a license as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in Nebraska. Preferred experience includes 1-2 years in pulmonology or a related specialty, along with BLS and ACLS certifications.

Conduct comprehensive health assessments and physical exams for patients with respiratory and pulmonary disorders. Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions such as COPD, asthma, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary hypertension, sleep apnea, and lung infections. Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests including chest X-rays, CT scans, pulmonary function tests, and sleep studies. Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians. Prescribe medications and non-pharmacological treatments in accordance with state and federal regulations. Provide education and counseling to patients and families regarding disease prevention, lifestyle modifications, medication adherence, and symptom management. Monitor treatment efficacy and adjust plans as necessary for optimal patient outcomes. Coordinate care with primary care providers, specialists, and ancillary services as needed. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, case reviews, and clinical research (if applicable). Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records (EMR) documentation. Demonstrate excellent clinical, diagnostic, and decision-making skills. Exhibit strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational abilities. Other duties as assigned by management.

Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or PA program with a Master’s or Doctorate degree. Prefer 1-2 years of experience in pulmonology, internal medicine, or a related specialty. License as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in Nebraska. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
