The Certifying Scientist is responsible for reviewing all clinical toxicology test results, associated quality control data, and documentation to certify and release results meeting quality standards. This role also involves providing technical consultation to clients and staff, assisting with litigation preparation, and interacting with inspectors and auditors.
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant science field is required, along with a minimum of two years of pertinent laboratory experience. Preferred qualifications include a Master's or Ph.D., and experience in Certifying Scientist duties, toxicology, chromatography, or mass spectrometry.
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology 2 years or more of pertinent laboratory experience
Master’s degree or Ph.D. in a Chemical or Biological Science 3 months or more of Certifying Scientist or Toxicology experience 6 months or more chromatography and/or mass spectrometry experience Additional Job Standards In lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirements Qualify as an NLCP Certifying Scientist in an appropriate time frame Excellent research and problem resolution skills Comfortability working in high volume, fast paced environment Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems are a plus Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks at a given time High level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs At Labcorp we have a passion for helping people live happy and healthy lives.
