The Certified Nurse Midwife provides direct patient clinical care in an ambulatory setting, focusing on women's health across all life cycles, including health maintenance exams and managing acute or stable chronic illnesses. This role involves coordinating prenatal care with physicians, participating in performance improvement projects, and ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and regulations.
Candidates must have satisfactorily completed a training program approved by the State Composite Board and hold a current Certified Nurse Midwife license, along with a current Registered Nurse license. A minimum of two to four years of related experience is required, and current Basic Life Support certification must be maintained.
Under the leadership of the Director, Physician Services, the Certified Nurse Midwife is an active member of the Physician Services team that delivers medical care consistent with the strategic vision, goals, philosophy and direction of Physician Services and CRHS. The Certified Nurse Midwife is responsible for providing women's health to patients throughout their life cycles while emphasizing wellness promotion, illness prevention, care of acute minor illnesses and stable chronic illnesses for all life cycles.
• Education:
Requires and maintains current state license as a Registered Nurse.
Requires and maintains current state certification as a Certified Nurse Midwife.
Maintains a current certification in Basic Life Support (If BLS verification is not current upon hire, it must be obtained within three (3) months of hire.)
