The technologist performs MRI procedures according to protocol, including patient preparation, while ensuring patient safety and monitoring the environment. Key duties involve interfacing with patients to explain procedures, screening for contraindications, obtaining prior exams, performing high-quality scans, and coordinating protocols with the Radiologist.
Candidates should have two plus years of experience in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), though this is preferred, and must be a graduate of an accredited Registered Technologist program. Required certifications include current ARRT with MR Registry or ARMRIT, and current CPR certification, along with the ability to excel in a fast-paced team environment.
Envision Imaging is looking for a part-time MRI Technologist to join our team in Bedford. TX! Thursday 3:00 PM - 9:00 PM, Friday 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, Saturday 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM | Position Pay Range: $37.51 - $48.35 $2,000 sign-on bons to eligable hires
Performs MRI procedures according to protocol and age-specific needs, including patient preparation. Maintains and monitors patient environment, adheres to safety procedures and contributes to the security and maintenance of the unit.
1. Interfaces with patient to ascertain medical history and provides instructions and explanation of the procedure and/or exam to obtain the best possible image.
2. Reviews patient charts for missed clinical information and/or consent. Screens patients for surgical and other implants, contrast allergies, etc.
3. Obtains prior films/exams as needed and performs high quality scans to submit to the Radiologist for interpretation.
4. Performs exams while attending to patient’s care before, during and following exam and notifies the appropriate party if patient’s condition changes at any time.
5. Transfers images to other locations as needed.
6. Coordinates scan protocols with Radiologist.
7. Maintains and regularly inspects equipment and immediately reports any quality concerns as well as equipment failures or deficiencies.
8. Interfaces with Lead Technologist & Center/Area Manager regarding any and all departmental concerns.

This position has no supervision responsibilities.
This job operates in an environmentally controlled outpatient clinical environment. Potential exposure to radiation, which is minimized by the use of Personal Protective Equipment. Possible exposure to bodily fluids, communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation and other conditions common to a medical office environment. Often requires work in cool, dimly lighted rooms.
