The practitioner administers prescribed respiratory therapy treatments and therapeutic procedures. This includes initiating and monitoring mechanical ventilation devices like ventilators, BIPAP, and CPAP.
Candidates must be certified as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the state of Pennsylvania and possess BCLS certification, with ACLS being preferred. Successful completion of applicable clearances within 90 days of employment is also mandatory.
Administers respiratory therapy treatments and therapeutic procedures as prescribed by the physician. Initiates and monitors ventilators and BIPAP/CPAP devices. Teaches respiratory equipment to patients and patient's families for use at home. Tests and maintains respiratory related equipment.
Certification as a Respiratory Care Practitioner from the state of Pennsylvania. BCLS required; ACLS preferred. Successful completion of applicable clearances as outlined in the Human Resources policy HR-106 within 90 days of commencing employment.
