The Recovery Coach will provide direct recovery coaching services within hospital emergency departments, primarily meeting with patients admitted due to opioid overdose or other substance-related crises. Key duties include facilitating timely referrals to treatment providers, connecting patients with community recovery resources, and engaging in recovery planning with the individual.
Candidates must have direct experience with the addiction recovery process and hold a Certificate of completion from the CCAR Recovery Coach Academy or a similar reputable program. Essential qualifications include understanding medication-assisted recovery, familiarity with local resources, strong interpersonal skills like active listening, and the ability to maintain professional boundaries within a hospital environment.

Gandara is looking for Recovery Coaches for the Emergency Department Program to provide recovery coaching services in hospital emergency departments. Candidates will work and meet with patients admitted to an ED as a result of an opioid overdose or other drug or alcohol-related crisis. They will support patients, family members, and hospital personnel and have demonstrated effectiveness in linking Emergency Department patients with treatment and community-based recovery resources.
