The primary goal is to increase physician efficiency by accurately and thoroughly documenting ophthalmic exams and procedures as they occur. This includes listing diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions as directed by the physician.
Candidates must be high school graduates or equivalent, with previous experience as an ophthalmic scribe or technician, and experience with electronic medical records being preferred. The role requires physical abilities such as standing, talking, hearing, and close visual acuity.
The primary goal of the ophthalmic scribe is to increase the efficiency and productivity of the physician in the clinic setting. The scribe must be able to anticipate physician needs, communicate clearly to patients and staff members, and effectively multi-task in order to facilitate clinic flow.
