The Physician Assistant provides general medical care for the Practice under the direction of attending physicians to ensure patient needs are met professionally and promptly. This role involves clinical duties requiring specific licensure and adherence to established medical protocols.
Candidates must possess a BS from an AMA accredited Physician Assistant Program and preferably have at least one year of experience in a medical office setting, though other clinical experience may substitute. Licensure in Maryland as a Physician's Assistant along with current BLS certification is mandatory, with ACLS/PALS required depending on the specific clinical arena.
Under the direction of the attending physicians, provides general medical care for the Practice to ensure patients needs are met in a professional and timely manner
Education - BS from an AMA accredited Physician Assistant Program
Experience - At least one year experience in a medical office setting preferred. Other clinical arenas may be considered for substitution.
Licensure/Certification - MMG - Licensed to practice as a Physician's Assistant in the State of Maryland. Current BLS (CPR) in compliance with policy. If a code cart is maintained in the practice ACLS and PALS (if applicable) are required. Wound Center Physician Assistant requires ACLS, PALS, and BLS.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities - Fluency in coding, ICD-9 and CPT, or commitment to acquire. Will have the following computer access: Meditech (PCI) and electronic health record (Allscripts) software, Internet, Intranet
