Incumbents provide primary care on both an episodic and short-term basis to defined patient populations under physician supervision, which includes interviewing patients, obtaining histories, performing examinations, and ordering specified diagnostic tests. Essential functions also involve diagnosing and prescribing treatment for common illnesses, performing various screenings and diagnostic procedures, and educating patients on medical, social, and psychological conditions.
Candidates must have completed an approved educational program for Nurse Practitioners and possess current licensure as a Registered Nurse in California specifying Nurse Practitioner or Nurse Midwife authorization, or hold a valid certificate from the Board of Registered Nursing authorizing the Nurse Practitioner title. A current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) card is required at hire, along with maintaining RQI Provider certification subsequently.

Nurse Practitioner - Full Time
Incumbents in this classification have advanced training which allows them to provide primary care on both an episodic and short-term basis to defined patient populations under the supervision of a licensed physician.
Employment Standards: Completion of an approved educational program for Nurse Practitioners;
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California which specifies that the individual is a licensed as a Nurse Practitioner or Nurse Midwife, OR, possession of a valid certificate issued by the Board of Registered Nursing authorizing use of the title Nurse Practitioner.
Possess a current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) card at time of hire. As a continued condition of employment, employee must maintain RQI Provider certification and competency.
