The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will provide general medical care and treatment to patients under provider direction while supporting the mission of Neighborhood Healthcare. This float position requires regular travel to provide coverage throughout Southern Riverside County based on operational needs.

The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, Float, works to support the mission and vision of Neighborhood Healthcare (NHC) by providing excellent patient-centered care and services within a dynamic team environment. This role will provide general medical care and treatment to patients under the direction of providers. In addition, this role will assess training opportunities to promote team development.
This position provides float coverage throughout Central Riverside County.
Work locations may vary regularly and are subject to change at any time based on business needs.
Neighborhood Healthcare will make every effort to keep assignments geographically aligned within one of our four primary regions and/or PACE regions.
However, in rare instances due to operational needs or coverage demands, this position may be assigned to any Neighborhood Healthcare site.
Advance notice will be provided whenever possible, though same-day or short-notice changes may occasionally occur.
****This position is eligible for float supplemental compensation of $15,000 per year.****
Responsibilities
The float position requires regular travel between assigned locations within the organization’s service area.
Central Riverside Float Zone – East Side A, East Side B, Beaumont, Mead Valley
Assigned site varies based on operational needs
Performs physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines/instructions from providers and NHC practice protocols
Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient’s
clinical problems and health care needs
Records physical findings and formulates plan and prognosis based on patient’s
condition
Discusses cases with providers and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plans
Submits health care plans and goals of individual patients for periodic review and evaluation by providers
Prescribes or recommends drugs or other forms of treatment to patients, such as physical therapy, inhalations therapy, or related therapeutic procedures
Refers patients to providers for consultation or specialized health resources for treatment
Keeps informed and promotes organizational activities and team goals aligned to the NHC mission and vision
Identifies training needs and promotes developmental activities for the team
Performs duties in accordance with the NP Supervisory Agreement
Impacts patient experiences by demonstrating courteous and helpful behavior and a commitment to accuracy
Shares accountability for overall patient health outcomes by working in coordination with care teams
Operates to instill confidence in our care and in our facilities to patients, fellow employees, and other stakeholders
Education/Experience
Master's degree in nursing, required
California Nurse Practitioner License in good standing, or Physician Assistant License in good standing required
Registered Nurse License in good standing, required
DEA: Current CA DEA licensure is required and is to be maintained as a condition of employment
BLS: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through an American Heart Association (AHA)-approved source is required upon hire and must be maintained as a condition of employment.
AHA-approved courses include an in-person, hands-on skills check with a certified instructor using a mannequin to demonstrate CPR and emergency response techniques.
Online-only BLS courses without a live skills check do not meet this requirement.
Association (AHA) approved source required upon hire and must be maintained as a condition of employment.
Board Certification (ANCC/AANPCB) or board eligible with certification within 12 months of hire, required.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
Reliable transportation and flexibility to adjust work location on short notice are required
Mileage will be reimbursed according to organizational policy.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including superior composition, typing and proofreading skills
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Knowledgeable about and experience with providing direct care to patients
Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Excellent planning and organizational ability
Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
Ability to work with highly confidential information in a professional and ethical manner
This position requires coverage at multiple Riverside County clinics.

Pay range
$124,000 - $191,100 per year, depending on experience. (DOE)
