This role functions as the clinical resource for staff and patients regarding ostomy, continence disorders, acute and chronic wounds, and fistulae, providing direct care in both inpatient and outpatient environments. Responsibilities include patient/family education on wound and ostomy management, assisting in product evaluation, and assessing all patients with pressure injuries staged at 3 or above to eliminate hospital-acquired pressure injuries.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s of Nursing (BSN) and be a Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in California, holding a Wound and Ostomy Certification. A minimum of four years of clinical experience is required, with a preference for two years of experience specifically in Wound and Ostomy.
Assesses all patients with a pressure injury staged at a 3 or above and sees all patients who have developed a hospital-acquired pressure injury (HAPI) and meets appropriate reporting requirements. Assesses overall hospital needs and practices to eliminate HAPIs.
Required Education: Bachelor’s of Nursing (BSN) required
