The Direct Support Professional will support individuals' personal goals, fostering community integration through assistance with daily living activities, communication, and health management. Key duties include ensuring 24/7 safety, supporting crisis intervention, and helping individuals participate in social and leisure activities.
Candidates must possess a strong desire to help others with empathy, dedication, trustworthiness, and respect for diversity, alongside professionalism in all interactions. Required qualifications include a High School diploma/GED, a valid Michigan driver's license, the ability to lift 50 lbs, and certification in CPR/First Aid.
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) supports the individual goals of the person served and helps them become integrated into his/ her community in the least restrictive manner. The DSP may assist in areas of mobility, activities of daily living, communication, cognition, health management, social networking, vocational, leisure time management, and community participation.
