The Direct Support Professional will support the goals of the individual served by assisting with mobility, daily living activities, communication, health management, and community integration in the least restrictive manner. Key duties include ensuring 24/7 safety, supporting crisis intervention, fostering collaborative relationships, and assisting with personal care and skill-building activities.
Candidates must possess a strong desire to help others, demonstrating empathy, patience, trustworthiness, and integrity, while respecting diversity and maintaining professionalism. Required qualifications include a High School Diploma/GED, a valid State of Michigan driver's license, the ability to lift 50 lbs, and commitment to obtaining CPR/First Aid certification.
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) supports the individual goals of the person served and helps them become integrated into his/ her community in the least restrictive manner. The DSP may assist in areas of mobility, activities of daily living, communication, cognition, health management, social networking, vocational, leisure time management, and community participation.
